Description
Natural silk scarf Catalonia, with patriotic content, inspired by the Catalan flag and the national anthem of Catalonia, two national symbols.
Along the length of the scarf there are six times the Senyera, two on both sides and two in the middle, unequally shaped. Six flags for six four-line verses of Els Segadors, with one verse written on each bar.
Moreover, the anthem calls for the defence of the freedom of the land. Its origins date back to the Segadors War in the 17th century.
On one hand, the current lyrics are by Emili Guanyavents and date from 1897. Elements of oral tradition are also used, which had already been collected previously by the writer and philosopher Manuel Milà i Fontanals in 1882. Finally, the musical version is by Francesc Alió, who composed it in 1892.
