This natural silk scarf montserrat is a small homage to the mountains of Montserrat.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have outlined the silhouettes of the magical mountains in a discreet gold that contrasts with the earthy colour of the scarf. He wrote the lyrics of Virolai or “Rosa d’abril” by hand.<\/p>\n

Virolai <\/em>is a hymn dedicated to the Virgin of Montserrat which, over time, has become a spiritual and patriotic symbol of the Catalans.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is a subtle design, which is both seen and unseen at the same time. To go discreet but original and people who want to see a part of our heritage.<\/p>\n

VIROLAI<\/strong><\/h6>\n

April Rose, Swarthy One in the highlands,
\nYou’re the star atop Montserrat:
\nCast your light upon the Catalan land,
\nGuide us to Heaven.<\/p>\n

With a gold<\/span> saw, the little angels cut
\nThose hills, so as to build you a palace.
\nQueen of Heaven, taken to earth by the Seraphim,
\nGive us shelter under your blue veil.<\/p>\n

Rising dawn crowned with stars,
\nCity of God dreamed by King David,
\nThe moon lies at your feet
\nWhile the sun dresses you with its rays.<\/p>\n

You shall always be the Princess of all Catalan people,
\nAnd for the Spaniard you shall be the Star of the Epiphany;
\nBe, for the virtuous, a support in fortitude
\nAnd, for the sinners, be a haven of salvation.<\/p>\n

Give<\/span> comfort<\/span> to those who long for their homeland,
\nUnable to see the mountains of Montserrat;
\nAcross both land and sea, listen to those who clamour to you,
\nGuide back to God those hearts that have abandoned His flock.<\/p>\n

Mystical Fountain that gives the water of life,
\nFlow down from Heaven into the heart of my country;
\nLets your gifts and graces<\/span> blossom in it;
\nMake of it, I beg you, your Paradise!<\/p>\n

Blessed, oh Mary, are those eyes that look upon you!<\/p>\n

Blessed is the heart that opens to your light!<\/p>\n

Rosebush of Heaven, surrounded by the Seraphim,
\nBless my prayer with your perfume.<\/p>\n

Gentle cedar, Crown of Lebanon<\/span>,
\nIncense-tree, Palm of Sion<\/span>,
\nThe Sacred Fruit given by your love
\nIs Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world.<\/p>\n

With your name, our story begins
\nAnd Montserrat is our Sinai:
\nLet all partake in the magnificent glory
\nOf those crags covered in rosemary!<\/p>\n
